"Tootie"

We called her "The Whirling Dervish", when we picked her up from Bonnie Blink and Danny Baisy on Easter Sunday 2004.  As we found out later, she lived up her nickname and then some. She was Joe's Easter present, presented to him in her own little basket, and she took to him like super glue. And to this day is still his number one fan.

7 Weeks

We were also on our way to the Mastiff Specialty in Tucson Arizona, and Tootie came along with the rest of the troop.  We don't think at that time that she knew she was supposed to grow up to be a Spinoni, we think she thought she was supposed to be a Mastiff.  She ended up being the hit of the party and everyone just had to pack her around and play with her. She maintained her Whirling Dervish tendencies and kept the folks in stitches.

What consisted of the Whirling Dervish you ask?  It was simply, her idea of following along, actually she had to be first, on her newly acquired leash and harness in a manner that bespoke of a little, leaping, whirling, somersaulting, puffing, squeaking, white blur, in constant motion.  She didn't stop to take a breath, rest, say hello or do her business until she flat out ran out of gas, then she just dropped like a poleaxed steer.  She was such an amazing parcel of energy, that it was truly, an event to witness.  She would draw crowds and people would wait and wonder how long it took before she would hit the dirt.  It took her about a year to grow out of that, and to this day if she gets very excited about something that has caught her eye, and she's off at it again.

1 Year

Here is our beautiful, special Tootie on her one year birthday.  Just imagine trying to get her to hold still for the camera and then you get an idea of how special these still pictures are.

Can you see the little dervish just waiting to get at it again in those eyes?
